On a bitterly cold night I watch my family miserably as they sit silently watching the shining lights of the big city switch off one by one. I slip slowly away on my quest to bring my family joy and happiness.

I creep silently past the the mound of rubble which I call home and made my way anxiously towards the busy highway. I hear the deathly motors of rushing cars as they zoom past me like lighting bolts. I look up at the poisoned fumes hovering above the polluted city and wonder whether I should cross the unforgiving highway or turn back to my family with nothing but pure disappointment. I finally make my last and final decision. family is the most important thing in my life. I'll go across. I step onto the noisy highway with one quivering paw. I can feel the rough tar under my stiff. Would this be the last thing I ever do?

I steadily walk a bit further. I look left then right. I now find myself in the center of the tense highway. Suddenly, I hear a roaring sound of a trucks engine that sent quivers down my feeble spine. I jerk my head to the right only to see a tremendous, deafening truck hurtling toward me at top speed coming closer by the second. Closer and closer it came; like death coming closer. I stop dead still in my tracks. Shaking from head to tail as the awful truck comes closer. I can't think straight and as quickly as ti had happened I was lying on the tough ground with an agonizing pain in my side. I feel like I just relived my whole frightful life. I must be dead.

I am too weak to open my painful eyes. In the distance I can hear a faint sound of a barking dog; a fearless dog that was to become my hero. I suddenly feel a sharp tug on my ruffled fur from a desperate, heroic dog that was trying to save my innocent life. I then became somewhat dizzy and as blackness sweeps over like a giant cloak of darkness I knew I was saved.

I woke up the next morning resting on warm, soft cloths and rags. I slowly open my tired eyes and right there in front of me sat my hero; full of invincible courage and bravery. I realized that the wondrous dog had been scavenging fro objects to keep me warm. I cautiously sit up and slowly nod my head to the kindhearted dog as a way to say thank you. We sat side by side and watched as a beautiful butterfly of hope soared like an eagle over the swaying dandelions. The majestic sun rises over the horizon. Joy and Happiness was with us when we returned to my family that are now as happy and joyful as ever. We now have a new member in our family.

In class we are learning about pronouns.
Pronouns take the place of a noun and makes the sentence less lumpy.
Possessive pronouns - show possession (ownership). They are normally found at the end of a sentence and mostly end in 's'. They NEVER take an apostrophe. e.g. Mine  yours  his  hers  ours  theirs.
Subject pronouns - e.g . I  You  he  she  it  we  they.
Object pronouns - e.g. me  you  him  her  it  us  them.
