Joey and Topthorn got captured by the Germans. They got a luxury stable. A young girl and her grandfather went into the stables. The girl wanted to keep the horses. The soldiers came a bit later and told Emilie that she could keep Topthorn and Joey then the soldiers left. Emilie's grandfather told Joey and Topthorn that Emilie had a disease and could die. Her mother, father and brother had died in the war. Emilie woke up the next day. Some soldiers came and took Joey and Topthorn to war a little while later and Emilie was heart broken.
